Cruise & back to school

I can't believe that the cruise was 2 months ago. School is back in session and I am so busy. The woman who worked in the office for about 2 hours a day was reassigned to another spot so I am alone all day. Someone comes in to cover my half hour lunch and I don't have anyone to cover my coffee break, so I don't get one. It really stinks. We had two full time secretaries in the office two years ago. The district cut back on all the support staff so almost everyone is doing the job of two people.

The cruise was fabulous. I would really recommend Celebrity Cruises. It is just a bit classier than the other cruise lines. There are no annoying announcements. The cruise directed does a video every night where he mentions what is going on and it is shown on a loop on the all day. That is so much better than having announcements 100 times a day about bingo, art auctions, karaoke, etc. I loved the fact that they had a classical string quartet playing in the coffee/tea room. It was lovely to sit there and sip my tea and listen to those fabulous musicians.

I love all the ports we made, Portland Me, Bar Harbor, ME, Halifax and St. John. It was much cooler than New York. Portland, in some areas, almost reminds me of Greenwich Village with the little shops & cafes. It has a fabulous little art museum that I recommend highly. It's a great city to just walk around. Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor shouldn't be missed. It's great that there is a free bus to take you around the park. Since we had been to Halifax before, we decided to take a bus tour to Lunnenburg. It is a nice, quaint little town but we spent 1 1/2 hours on the bus getting there, another 1 1/2 hours getting back and about 1 hour in Lunnenburg. By the time we had lunch, we had no time to walk around. I really like the people in St. John, NB. They are very friendly. I was talking to one man for over a half hour. He was telling me about places to see the next time I come.

I really like this picture I took, I didn't realize that I had gotten not only the Statue of Liberty but also the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building in the same shot. It was taken from Port Elizabeth in New Jersey.

The Metropolitan Opera has a lottery every Monday for tickets to shows the following weekend. You can get orchestra seats for $25 each. I won for this weekend so Suzie & I will be going to see Rigoletto. I can't believe I won in the first lottery. I can't see me doing this every week but it would be nice to win every now & then.
