Well, Friday was the last day for my old boss. There was a wonderful party for her, approximately 125 people came. It was fun seeing so many retired teachers. She has retired after 38 years at Lakeland. She has been Assistant Principal/Dean for, I believe, 36 of those years. The interim AP is very nice but it feel strange because he graduated high school the same year as my older son. They were even in Middle School together. It should work out well though.
I am 2/3 of the way through my next blanket. Since I have a little time, I think I may start something for myself. I haven't made anything for me in a few years. I am trying to decide between a shawl and a jacket. I'll take a look at my stash and see what works.
It was a nasty, windy, cold day today so I spent the entire day cooking and baking. The house has such a strange assortment of smells, apple pie, stuffed cabbage, sausage. I am trying to decide when to start my Christmas cookies. I'm not sure that some of these recipes will freeze well and I don't want them to get stale.
