I will be making or have made blankets, hats & sweaters for 7 babies. Matt's friends had a baby girl three weeks ago. I started making things for them over the summer until Matt told me that if I continued to make baby things for them he would need a truck to deliver them. The light & dark blue to the left are for my friend's daughter who is having a baby shower tomorrow. I put the finishing touches (pom pom) on the hat today. One is for another friend's son & his wife who are due at the end of December. The other 4 are for co-workers who are due between January & March.
I don't think I will be getting to the gorgeous mohair & silk yarn I bought at the Sheep & Wool festival any time soon. I have the patterns all picked out.
Tonight Suzie & I are going to see Australia. There is nothing like Hugh Jackman for wonderful eye candy. I'll finish this blog when I get back and let you know how it was. The reviews have been mixed but it sounds like fun.
Well, I have to say that everything the critics said about Australia is true. It is part Gone with the Wind, part Indiana Jones, part Pearl Harbor, part African Queen and I loved every minute of it. I have already asked Amazon to notify me when the video becomes available. Nicole Kidman in the beginning was way over the top playing a stuffy English lady. Hugh Jackman started out as a hard drinking, hard fighting western type hero. The child actor was fabulous. This was his first movie and he stole the whole picture. Hugh Jackman was very good and very, very gorgeous. I have always liked him, he seems like a good person.
Well, I had better go pick out my yarn for the next baby. The couple are throwbacks to the 60's, very love, peace & vegan. For them I think I will go with organic cotton. I think I have enough in my stash. If not, it is easy get more.
