Last school day

The surgery went well yesterday and the surgeon was pleased with the way everything is healing.

What is going on? Can't we go two days without snow? When Richie walked the dog this morning, it was snowing like crazy. At least it didn't last long. I never checked the calendar, was today the first day of winter?

Today was a double whammy at school today, the last day before vacation and shortened periods for the pep rally. I HATE pep rally day. Something always goes wrong those days. The kids are too wired up and there seems to always be a fight or something equally serious happening. Well, at least I can relax until New Years Day and then back to work on the 2nd. That is the best part about working in a school. I was hoping that the son of one of the teachers was going to sub this week. He just came back from an extended trip in Southeast Asia and I have been following his exploits with his blog. He got back this week and I really wanted to see him; maybe after vacation he'll be in school.
