One hour reconstructive surgery turned into four hours, and the job is not done. Mom is staying overnight at the hospital and won't be back at work for at least 2 weeks. The tear duct was compromised, so she needs to consult an ophthalmologist. There will be more reconstructive surgery to follow. Possibly multiple more surgeries to follow, actually. And she may need radiation on her face, just in case they still didn't manage to get all the cancer.
The surgeon wanted to make sure her vision was all right before he let her go home, so she'll probably be home tomorrow afternoon. I doubt she'll be feeling up to posting, so I'll keep my job as Designated Blogger.
