Wool & sheep festival

Mary M. & I went to the wool & sheep festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds today. Wow! The yarn was wonderful. I wish I was wealthy, I would have purchased so much more. I fell in love with the alpaca yarn. I also got to pet an alpaca; what an amazing feeling. The fur is fantastic, I just wanted to bury my hands in the fur and leave them there. The price of yak has come down from last year. It is now $60 per ounce, down from $100. It would cost many hundreds of dollars to make a sweater or shawl. The weather was perfect, some place in the mid 70's and the color of the leaves on the Taconic were spectacular. This is one of the nicest falls we have had in a while.

I have not heard from the doctors, so I don't know what is going on with the skin cancer. Since I have a wedding on November 10th, nothing will happen until after that date. My doctors are disagreeing on what the next step is. My oncologist is on vacation until October 29 and my appointment is on the 30th. I'll talk to him about it. I still have to get the approval for the MRI. I would also like to know what my status is now that the report came out that Taxol doesn't work on the type of tumor I had. That means I only had 4 treatments that had any effect at all. The other 4 were useless and only caused me nerve damage. It's a shame that the report didn't come out in May.

Richie & I are going to Washington DC this weekend. There are some exhibits that we want to see. It is the last weekend for one exhibit and the first weekend for another so that works out. It will be nice to get away.
