1 1/2 hours in an MRI

I went for the MRI today. Right before I went in I was told that the scan would take a while because (of course, no doctor ever told me) that there is some concern that the cancer may have traveled to my brain. What I also wasn't told was that the MRI would take 1 1/2 hours. Thank goodness that the machines have improved and don't seem so much like a coffin. This one had headphones so that I could listen to music and a mirror that worked something like a periscope so that I could see out. I didn't notice until the scan started that it was freezing in there. I drove home with the heat blasting just so I could thaw out.

The doctor should hear in a day or two what the results are. Unfortunately, she is closed on Friday so I won't hear until Monday. If it's good news, I'd like to hear before I go to Washington. If it's bad news, I hope it waits until Monday. I just hate hearing bad news at work. That has happened too often.

It looks like the forecast for Washington DC for the weekend is rain. That's a shame because it is such a great walking city. I'll just hope for the best. At least our hotel in Alexandria is on a subway stop. That makes things so much easier.
